| Genkernel 3.0 has an option: --bootsplash Install bootsplash to initrd And the genkernel.conf says: # Copy bootsplash into the initrd image? BOOTSPLASH="yes" But, there's no place to specify any bootsplash. And, the resulting initrd is over 600,000 So...where does this bootsplash come from? How do you know what to set your framebuffer for? -- -Joseph- Newbies, don't let some of our people's nastiness put you off... http://users.netwit.net.au/~pursang/l-faq.pdf http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/index.xml |

Read this how-to at the gentoo forums; http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.p...ght=bootsplash You may have forgotten a kernel option. I don't use genkernel or bootsplash, so I don't know the difference between bootsplash version 3.0 and 3.01. Hope this helps. -- Marquez LaMaistres Email:lamaistres(at)charter(dot)net http://webpages.charter.net/lamaistres Gentoo user from Seattle. |

It was due to an ambiguity in the existing documentation. My fix is in the forum you mention. -- -Joseph- Thank God for the ability to PLONK people. Watch out for people who have forgotten what it's like to be a nOOb. Give them a good PLONK for 30 days or so. And, be greatful when people say they are going to PLONK you; that is often a Godsend. |
