It takes a while for all details to be worked out. For now you can probably just copy the old kde-i18n ebuild to the new version number, and I think it will work for most languages. If you get it to work reliably, report success to Bugzilla bug #61010, or something similar. If you use ~ARCH packages, expect that you have to do a little work yourself. -- PeKaJe Word is a fine tool when you don't need your output to look identical on every machine that might use it. -- Erik Funkenbusch, Microsoft apologist |

If you have it running better than they do, they will be interested in how you did that. If not, then not. > i wrote that i already downloaded it from the kde site. So? Every 3-year old can download something from a website. That doesn't mean you installed it using a proper ebuild, and that it worked like a charm, does it? We want usable details, not vague hints. Please note that you still didn't tell us if you got it working or not - you just say you compiled it. Sybren -- The problem with the world is stupidity. From the text of your previous posting I presumed you wanted to know the name of the internalisation package. It's name is "kde-i18n". Now it seems you want to know if the package is yet available for KDE 3.3.0 (which is still "testing"). I guess you can figure that out by yourself and the reason for that. Thorsten |

Guess what? My post was a hint to *you* that you should try updating the ebuild and report success to the Gentoo devs at bugs.gentoo.org. I'm pretty sure they *know* that the files are available from the KDE site, but someone reporting that a version bump of the same ebuild works is far more valuable. If you're really ambitious, you could check the mirror site for new translations that need to be added to the ebuild. Reporting things like that is how many of us pay for Gentoo. That and acting as support people. Don't you want to make yourself valuable to Gentoo? :-) -- PeKaJe "Cable is not a luxury, since many areas have poor TV reception." -- The mayor of Tucson, Arizona, 1989 |
