kprinter - nonexistant directory in "save to"

After harvesting the manuals, I decided to come here first, as I didn't find
solutions or even mentioning of my problem in the KDE-lists:

Since I copied some kde-settings from another machine I encounter a funky
behaviour in kprinter:
My username is, say , cookie. on the othermachine it was murphy.
I did not copy and cups or kprinter related files s far as I know, but
kprinter now always wants to save files to /home/murphy/print.pdf
Where can I change that?
Furthermore I discovered a problem when using poster-printing: the pdf file
which comes from using kprinter with poster setting enabled is distorted -
its shifted and fragmented. I have no clue how such an erraneous behaviour
can be produced.
