| Hello, I just compiled the latest gentoo-sources kernel (2.4.22-r1), but it won't boot. I prepared my system, including lilo, perfectly. When it boots - it will show lilo, and after selecting the new kernel, it will change resolutions, and just show a black screen. Normally, it will start booting, but not in this case. Any ideas why? -- Tommy C. Li |

You can use the live cd to boot and chroot into the new system modify lilo.conf and install it then reboot. After your into the new system see if you enabled framebuffer support in the kernel. |

Yeah - I did that - and it still hangs. The kernel does seem to start loading though... The last three messages are: Calibrating APIC timer... CPU Clock speed is 1600.00Mhz Host Bus Clock speed is 0.00Mhz Cpu: 0, clocks: 0, slice: 0 I am using pretty much the exact same processor settings as my old kernel, which is fine (I am running on it right now.).
