Default Pango compilation

I have problems on compiling Pango -libraries. I am using
ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86". Compilation stop on error on references to some FS_*
names. I had compilation errors also before (on older version of Pango and
gcc). I checked Pango's website, and found that there is much newer version
available (so there is no point on giving any error report).

Since both Gentoo Firebird and Thunderbird depend on Pango, I'd like to
compile it. So, should I fetch the newest version from the Pango site, or
wait that it comes to Gentoo?
