Default [ping] Sybren re: crontab and mailto

Well Sybren, took me some days to get into reading and testing to see if
I got mail from cron right. And, it works ! Thanks so much for your
patient help.

Had to put out a fire before messing with the mailing issue. etc-update
wanted to, and did, trash fstab, groups, rc.conf and /conf.d/net (used
a backup to restore /etc to later correct things). I was prepared for
and expecting it though. Also, I'm now much more cautious of just
letting /etc be overwritten. Now I _read_ and check each item first.
However, now I'm using dispatch-conf ... thanks goes to you for
mentioning it.

Still dunno why users can't use K3B any more - could at once. But, that
was with kernel 2.4 and I've gone to 2.6.8.1 in the last month. I'll
work through it later.

There is a Blocker against 'emerge -uD world' to fix, but I'm getting
around it by ommitting the D option. But hey, mail from cron works !

Again, thank you very much !!

Enjoy the day,
