| I have a strange problem with a Gentoo install on a Sony Vaio PCG-GRX650. Every other time I boot, the disk check on my ReiserFS-formatted partition fails. In other words, I boot, it gets to 'replaying journal', and hangs. If I reboot, it then goes through the same sequence, and then works. When I then shutdown, and reboot, it hangs, requiring me to reboot again. Any ideas? Ryan Erickson usenet@ericksonfamily.com http://www.ericksonfamily.com |

You could try running reiserfsck on that partition, it'll need to be unmounted so you could boot the gentoo live cd and do it from there if need be. -Dan |

| I used to unplug my Windows PC between uses, and it did the same thing. Leaving it plugged in between uses fixed that problem; this newsgroup is teaching me how I can fix the rest by ditching Windows...
