| I'm the FreeBSD guy who posted a few days ago about considering installing Gentoo so I could use some MIDI apps. Well, tonight I'm diving in! Bought a new 200 gig hard drive just for Gentoo, and am in the process of doing a stage3 GRP install for AMD64 right now (posting this from my other, FreeBSD machine), using the ISOs I downloaded and burned the other day. I must say, I'm pretty darned impressed with the Gentoo installer. I especially like how easy it is to access the complete handbook documentation during the process. Eliminates all the guesswork and greatly reduces the likelihood of making any seriously stupid mistakes. What I'm seeing so far, I like very much. I think I'm really doing to enjoy exploring this new system. Expect to be hearing more from me here. :-) -- Conrad Sabatier <conrads@cox.net> - "In Unix veritas" |
