HI,

I have Gentoo 1.4 installed on my Thinkpad 390x laptop.

I only have a dialup at my home and need to get the winmodem working.

I emerged ltmodem and KPPP or qtwvdialer will query the modem without
issue. When I actually attempt to dial the modem will get a dialtone
then locks up.

Also, when I connect through my wifes pc using ICS, when I disconnect
on her system my laptop crashes.

I had the modem working fine using Mandrake, but I like Gentoo except
for this glitch.

Any Ideas how to fix this?

yea, dont use a winmodem, get off your cheap ass and buy one :-p
