| Has anyone managed to get multiple CD/DVD units to work with sys-fs/udev-103, all I get is lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 3 2007-01-04 12:41 /dev/cdrom -> hdb lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 3 2007-01-04 12:41 /dev/cdrom1 -> hdb lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 3 2007-01-04 12:41 /dev/cdrw -> hdb lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 3 2007-01-04 12:41 /dev/cdrw1 -> hdb lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 3 2007-01-04 12:41 /dev/dvd -> hdb lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 3 2007-01-04 12:41 /dev/dvd1 -> hdb lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 3 2007-01-04 12:41 /dev/dvdrw -> hdb lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 3 2007-01-04 12:41 /dev/dvdrw1 -> hdb For those who haven't managed to guess, I have two DVD-units connected to my machine. It feels like the only way would to downgrade udev, anyone who for sure remembers which version worked with multiple CD/DVD units? -- //Aho |

Either you have some luck with the udev or you have some custom rules, there seems toe be talk about this trouble at the slow forums and bugzilla and it's not only Gentoo that seems to suffer from this and the trouble is there regardless of ide, ide-scsi/scis devices. Anyway found a fix that works in debian, at least it now makes right links and generates some error messages during boot-up. -- //Aho |
