| Hi out there, I got a problem with my brand new USB stick. It's an apacer HT202. I know that it is running (tested it), on Linux and even on Windows. But not on my system. I followed http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_USB_Mass_Storage_Device (the module version). I have a stick that used to work with USB 2.0, but no longer does (I got error messages somewhat like you); but it still talks with machines that use only USB 1.1. Another theory would be that the USB controller on your system does not work properly. - anton -- M. I know that for sure, because I have its lsmod.out here usbcore 104316 4 usb_storage,ehci_hcd,uhci_hcd My system uses ohci. I've got an ASUS Board (A7N8X-X)with nvidia nforce2 chipset. I'll give USB 1.1 a try. > Another theory would be that the USB controller on your > system does not work properly. No problems with my mouse and my digicam (PTP mode) so far. But I don't if that excludes errors with a mass storage device. Is there a hardware test available to check if the USB controller works properly? |

Did you do anything > silly like put an NTFS partition on it? (posting from google) No. It's a vfat partition. As I mentioned, the stick is running on another linux system. And vfat support is enabled. |

Hmm, I attached it at the third usb host connected with the usb port of my case. Will give that a try, too. |

OK, runs with USB 1.1. (without ehci). But the speed is PITA. What can I do to run it with ehci and where to address this problem? thx matthias |
