| Hey all, I was trying to install some things and xine-lib came up as a dependancy, and it keeps failing to compile (xine-lib-1_rc4). Has anyone else had problems with it? I have tried turning off some build flags (avi, esd, etc) because I probably dont need these at the moment (dependency is for a game) but still fails at the same spot. Here is the 'emerge -pv xine-lib' output: media-libs/xine-lib-1_rc4 +X +aalib -alsa -arts +avi -directfb -dvd +esd -gnome -ipv6 +nls +oggvorbis +sdl -speex -theora and from make.conf: CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu" CFLAGS="-march=pentium4 -pipe" but building fails... dsputil_mmx.c:614: error: can't find a register in class `GENERAL_REGS' while reloading `asm' <snip> make[5]: Leaving directory `/tmp/portage/xine-lib-1_rc4/work/xine-lib-1-rc4/src/libffmpeg/libavcodec/i386' <snip> !!! It is already a registered bug. My work arround was to install a previous version of the lib. If I recall correctly, it must have been the lib_rc2. Sorry, I can not answer mote detailed, but the system crashed a week ago. I will try to emerge it now. I want to see if it it has anything to do with unknown dependencies or so. > thanks > > Toby Moore Andrej -- Über Drogen und Anarchie, Gesellschaft und Psychologie http://blog.andrej-schoeke.de |

| I tried rc1 but it still break with the same error, but in a different place postprocess_template.c:61: error: can't find a register in class `GENERAL_REGS' while reloading `asm' I'm using this if it matters: gcc version 3.3.3 20040412 (Gentoo Linux 3.3.3-r3, ssp-3.3-7, pie-8.5.3) Andrej Schoeke wrote: > scn wrote: > >> Hey all, >> >> I was trying to install some things and xine-lib came up as a >> dependancy, and it keeps failing to compile (xine-lib-1_rc4) >> any ideas or similar problems? > > > Yes, I had.
