| A question for all experts here. When upgrading database 817 to 920 on Windows AD 2000, will you do it manually or via DUA (database upgrade assistant)? Will the decision depend on db size, down time allowed, feature used (i.e. interMedia, spatial etc.) and number of db objects? Appreciate your answers. Jack |

| I upgraded a few databases from 8.1.6 to (I couldn't go directly from 8.1.6 to 9.2.0 with the GUI's) 8.1.7 to 9.2.0 with the oracle GUIs, (their names keep changing) on Solaris, and I didn't have any problems at all. Some of the databases used intermedia/text and all was good, nice and simple. Afterwards, I converted the spfile back to a pfile as that is our preference.
