A: The most difficult situation was this question. I solved it by putting it into some random newsgroup. Frankly, your question has nothing to do with Oracle. If you want my most difficult situation then I get the job ... because I solved it ... not you. Seems to me your are either trolling or are totally unqualified for any Oracle position as you have no real experience. -- Daniel Morgan http://www.outreach.washington.edu/e...ad/oad_crs.asp http://www.outreach.washington.edu/e...oa/aoa_crs.asp damorgan@x.washington.edu (replace 'x' with a 'u' to reply) |

Although perhaps of some mild interest, I really don't think your interviewers would be too impressed in hearing stories relating to the many adventures of Richard Foote (or anyone else for that matter). BTW, my most difficult situation had nothing to do with being an Oracle DBA and everything to do with coming down a mountain face in a somewhat uncontrollable fashion !! Interestingly, I'm currently filling out a questionnaire where it's asking for my favourite colour. Any suggestions .... Cheers Richard |

Funny, but a number of times when I've been asked this question, I give whatever answer, then later subtly probe the interviewer for what they think is a difficult situation, and then rattle off how simply and obviously I solved something similar. Sometimes this really nails it. Other times it just shows how really underwater the interviewer is. So Ali, tell us, what is the most difficult situation u faced and how did u solved it ???? > > > > Hi Ali > > I think the point to this question to determine something about *your* > experiences and a little about how *you* perform in difficult situations. And more importantly, the interviewer needs to know what you think a difficult situation is. For me it has usually been no-win poor management situations, and I still don't know how to deal with that in an interview. So I take the question as a straight technical question, avoiding what for me is a difficult answer and steering the interview toward my strengths. Of course, one of my weaknesses is talking myself into a hole, so this doesn't always come out right. Sometimes I see interviewers giving sidelong glances to each other and I have to stop and simply ask "did I say something wrong?" only to discover I've just given a description of a problem identical to one they had. Sometimes this frightens people. > > Although perhaps of some mild interest, I really don't think your > interviewers would be too impressed in hearing stories relating to the many > adventures of Richard Foote (or anyone else for that matter). I think this entire post was a red herring. First off Ali has never returned and second what are the chances that he recieved a copy of the interview questions before the actual interview? Zero? I suspect it was a troll. But if it wasn't ... the fact that he asked the question at all is ample evidence that he is unqualified for the job. -- Daniel Morgan http://www.outreach.washington.edu/e...ad/oad_crs.asp http://www.outreach.washington.edu/e...oa/aoa_crs.asp damorgan@x.washington.edu (replace 'x' with a 'u' to reply) |
