This is also spam. Please repost at c.d.o.marketplace and/or ebay.com as is appropriate. It is not appropriate to spam c.d.o.server. Thank you. -- Daniel A. I have customers who do that. Except, when they're that cheap, they never throw anything away. I've considered asking for an old K-class for my basement museum, but if I ask, then they'll be convinced it is worth something. :-O Seriously, it's often similar cost to buy a refurb'd newer box, get the included (hopefully cheaper) maintenance, and make the old box a standby until it dies or becomes way too underpowered, than to just keep paying maintenance. YSLFMV (Your Software Licensing Fees May Vary). (Don't forget to factor in depreciation and expensing tax benefits). jg -- @home.com is bogus. Not mine ... the newly revitalized Victoria OUG in Victoria British Columbia? If so let me know. I can probably get IOUG or HP to cover the cost of shipping. -- Daniel A. According to my experiences, the old production hardware is either returned to its vendor as a part of a HW renewal contract or used in less demanding role such as a development or a test server. Usually, there is a requirement to have full support even for a standby environment (it is part of a production environment anyway). -- Dusan Bolek |
