Default Installing Oracle Files

Hello everybody,

I am trying build a business case for Oracle at my workplace and
install Oracle Files. I have a Solaris 8 box with an Oracle 10g
instance, but the dependency tree is getting a bit problematic.

Oracle Files is bundled with Oracle Collaboration Suite release 2
(9.0.4.0.1). Oracle Collaboration Suite's runInstaller says it needs
"Oracle 9iAS Single Sign-On"

On the assumption that "Oracle 9iAS Single Sign-On" is part of Oracle
9iAS Infrastructure Release 2, I downloaded those discs (the links are
on the same page
http://www.oracle.com/technology/sof.../solsoft.html).
However there is no runInstall or release notes or Installation Guide
that I can find with or related to 9iAS Infrasctucture Release.

So where do I find Oracle 9iAS Single Sign-On, and where are the
relevent Installation guides?

TIA,

//Pete

Oracle9iAS Single SignOn is part of the Oracle9iAS Infrastructure.

First you install the 9iAS infrastructure, then you can install the things
that depend on the infrastructure, such as Oracle9iAS itself, or the
Oracle Collab Suite.

Talk to your Oracle rep and see if you can get the single-box install DVD.
Much easier.

By the way - you might want to spend a few moments with the 'Installation
Guide'. It tells you silly stuff like "The Oracle9i AS Infrastructure is
part of the CD pack." (Section 1.1 What Are the Contents of the Oracle
Collaboration Suite CD Pack?)

There is also a document called 'Preinstallation Guide' which kinda walks
you through the prerequisites, such as appropriate hardware sizing, kernel
parameters, etc.

In addition to previous responses; the 10g Companion CD carries
not only 1.3.22 and 2.0 of Apache, but also supports modplsql
and modosso (Oracle Single Sign On), if you just want a small
footprint. LDAP is up to yourself, but you won;t get the infra
structure colossus
