Not even Larry I suspect. But weeks not months.

There have been repeated posts to otn.oracle.com General Database news group
with no answer from Oracle. There was one recent request to join the beta
which was more or less responded to favorably.

Betas are ongoing. When 10.0 is done ... 10.1, 11.0, and 12.0 are in
progress.

10g will be released when the last one or two show-stopper bugs are
fixed: Not before ... but very soon.

It's OK. We're all going to wait for 10.2 anyway for production systems .
God help the 10.0s
(of which I'll be one cos no-one here's saying anything you can't get on
OTN ) but nothings going to be recommended until a stable 10.2 comes out

Except the OMS perhaps.

A wise point-of-view. But I think, at least it appears to me, that you
will be pleasantly surprised by this release. There may be some problems
with the 140+ items of new functionality but the 9i and before stuff
seems to be very solid.

Now doubt I will catch tons of grief from everyone that has a problem
.... but so be it.

An Oracle salesrep just told me that the target release date is in the next
two weeks, but she had no idea if they were on target to make it.

Maybe, but almost exactly the same proclamation I've heard about 9i
rel1, something like "in the past it was indeed better to wait for
second release, but THIS ONE is definitely stable and great and ..."
And we all here know how much "unbreakable" it was (can't break in).
So I will also join a backup battalion and watch first lines to bleed
out from safe distance. :-)

I heard the same thing 3 months ago from our salesrep who said end Dec...I
don't think these guys really have a clue and like all salesreps if they
don't know the answer they just make one up. That's their job :-)
