It cannot be Itanium. Solaris does not run on it.

Microsoft, AMD and Sun's (and Intel) marketing wonks have agreed that
x64 means AMD64 and EM64T while IA64 means Itanium/Merced.

Not sure who coined x86-64, but I'm sure Google will provide a good
guess.

Install documentation for oracle ( "quick install guide" ) notes this
will run only on AMD64.

So you need an athlon/opteron with 64 bit support to get the correct
solaris 10 base installed.

Perhaps ( don't hold your breath ) oracle will also release 32 bit
version for solaris ( 10 ) eventually?

According to Metalink 10gR2 for 32 bit Sx86 is coming this half.
