Default oracle versions

is older oracle version 8i similar to 9i
i think it seems pretty similar
could u prompt on the new features?
also the ora navigator seems to do things
pretty simple way so what's the need for
the sql+ for inserting the table values

Similar is relative. Check out the "New Features" chapter of the 9i
documentation (tahiti.oracle.com)

SQL*Plus is pratically guaranteed to be installed on any machine that
has Oracle access. You can't always take Tool X with you.

Similar yes ... supported no.
Similar yes ... equal in functionality no.
Similar yes ... worth installing no.

why is it not worth installing?
even i don't have the 9i version but i'm
thinking of upgrading .ps reply.
