Hardly! Jeeezzz, have you guys already forgotten the "Propably version 10.2.0.4 for Linux will be released in July 2008" prediction less than a month ago? The quick links show that for linux 64 bit already, though not Itanium or the IBM stuff. It's all rumour and innuendo until the fat patch downloads. So watch this space: http://wordpress.com/tag/oracle-11g-features-posts/ jg -- @home.com is bogus. "What is the similarity between air traffic controllers and pilots? If a pilot screws up, the pilot dies; If ATC screws up... the pilot dies." |

Are we talking about the company that has released Oracle 10.2.x series of bugs? Of course they are pushing untested code. You can't possibly test it internally for each and every possible use case on every possible hardware and software combination. That's what customers are for. fast. Sometimes. Regards, Vladimir M. We had an instance crash on our sole 32 bit Linux platform a couple of days ago, and the support analyst pointed us to the 10.2.0.4 patchset. I didn't ask, but wasn't that supposed to still be password protected? |

I spent many hundreds of hours testing it and can assure you, based on the number of betas, that the testing was thorough. Did some bugs sneak through? Absolutely. If you want perfection go back to 3x5 cards. But given the huge number of features and the complexity of the product the small number of bugs found is a triumph of good design, and good change management. Consider 10gR2 versus Windows. Two very complex systems. Oracle releases regularly with major new features and "it works." Anyone want to trade their XP or Linux for Vista? -- Daniel A. So i can say that is not so full of bugs, also if the list of patches on metalink is huge. It is a complex software and something can go wrong. I think it is a bit early for asking a patchset for 11g today. regards, Cristian Cudizio http://oracledb.wordpress.com http://cristiancudizio.wordpress.com |
