| Hello Fellow Oracle Users, Is there a way to report possible Oracle bugs to Oracle without having an Oracle license? I am testing the free evaluation download products from OTN, and I have been told that in order to open an Oracle tar, I need to have a license. Is this true? OTN says that the products there are free, and come with a "developing" license. I have my OTN id, how can I get the actual "developing" Oracle license number for filing Oracle bugs/tars purposes? Any info will be appreciated. Cheers, A. Fuentes |

Then again, only "reporting" a bug can hardly be called "support", can it :-) -- With regards, Martijn Tonies Database Workbench - tool for InterBase, Firebird, MySQL, Oracle & MS SQL Server Upscene Productions http://www.upscene.com Database development questions? Yes it is true. However, you can arrange for a free Trial License, duration 30 days, with your Oracle sales representative. The Trial License permits getting a metalink access. Since the metalink access for the trial license is paid by the sales organization, sales is reluctant to hand out trial licenses without a serious opportunity for sale. However, an economic alternative - PURCHASE the Personal Edition on a 1-year term and get support for that. Note that support access is 22% of the perpetual license, so a 1 year term would be USD$80 (license) + USD$88 (support) and a perpetual license is USD$400 + USD$88 -- Hans Forbrich Canada-wide Oracle training and consulting mailto: Fuzzy.GreyBeard_at_gmail.com *** Top posting replies guarantees I won't respond. *** |

Fuentes I can think of one simple way to report bugs to Oracle ... report them here. Many of us will check to see whether they are actual bugs and Oracle monitors these groups. My experience, so far, is that most "bugs" are in the expectations (lack of reading the docs) of the user and not in Oracle's software. -- Daniel A. | As other people have noted, if you supply specific details about exactly what you did, and what you think the bug is, including scripts that can be used to reproduce it, then many of the people here that ( sometimes ) answer questions might report it to oracle for you. |
