I'm a little saddened that your offer comes 1 day before I put the proposal to a vote. Had it been earlier, we could have solicited more input and interaction on your suggestion. My original post has been out for several weeks now and most of the discussion has been in cdo.misc I'll try to work some of your suggestions into the final proposal tomorrow. You are, of course, free to put forth your own proposal in addition to (or in place of) mine. /Hans |

My original post has been out for several weeks now and >most of the discussion has been in cdo.misc No need to be sad. Unless there is a lot more going on in the background or that has made it to my newsfeed than I've seen, only you, me and Mark S. have actually volunteered to do anything? Apologies on the procrastination, I've been dealing with work and an awful flu season. > >I'll try to work some of your suggestions into the final proposal >tomorrow. You are, of course, free to put forth your own proposal in >addition to (or in place of) mine. Since I'm doing it as a website where I have final authority, I'm doing it anyways. I'm using the Linus Torvalds Benificent Despot model here, so I'd like it if we work together, but if not, hey, no big whoop. Anyways, I'm trying explicitly to distill the cdo netwisdom to something palatable to newbies, so I don't see any real conflict, except as regards periodic newsgroup postings. I think most newbies _want_ to know the rules and would appreciate such a site, rather than a gang-FAQ when they trip over the obvious. > >/Hans -- remove nospam to reply.
