| We are looking for a backup solution for our e-commerce site. We need to be up 24/7 and currently we are taking a 1 1/2 hour outage each weekend for an off-line backup. Are there any suggestions for a backup solution that would allow us to minimize our outage? Thanks |

You don't need them to recover your database, online backups should be fine. -----= Posted via Newsfeeds.Com, Uncensored Usenet News =----- http://www.newsfeeds.com - The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! -----== Over 100,000 Newsgroups - 19 Different Servers! =----- |

| Consider Blair and Ian's suggestion. I would suggest Split/Mirror backup (I/O suspend) first. And you also can use Online backup - db2 udb supports both db and tablespaces online backup. | Commerce Sites tend to have considerable static data. The only thing that needs to get backed up on a regular basis is the transactional data. Therefore place all transactional tables in one or two tablespaces and to a TS level backup.
