| Hi, I have a new AIX 5.1 server with db2 8.1 work group server installed. I recovered a new database using redirected restore from an online backup image created from another same platform server. I didn't realize the tablespace problem until I applied db2 Fixpak 9a on my new server. I was able to connect to the database, However, one of the tablesapce are in still in backup pending state. Does anyone can tell me the trick on how to set the tablespace stateinto normal with having to recreate the database? Thanks! | Hi LAN, The remedy for Backup Pending is "The table space (or, alternatively, the entire database) must be backed up before the table space can be used". This will solve ur problem. Cheers, WantedToBeDBA. Thiru IBM Certified DB2 UDB V8.1 for Linux, UNIX, and Windows Database Administration. |

| Hi Thiru, Thanks for your message. I was able to bring the tablespace to normal state now. However, when I tried to execute a db2 net search extender installation verification such as ./nsesample dbname, the tablespace is send back to backup pending state again. Do you what what could be the reason? Thanks!
