| DB2 UDB 7.2 WSE Fixpak 9 Linux Red Hat 7.3 I am in the midst of making some changes to a Sybase Powerbuilder-based Windows graphical user interface that uses DB2. Some requests/complaints I have heard from end users are: -it takes too much time to perform data entry/maintenance -they want to keep their hands on the keyboard and not use the mouse so much Besides modifying the current interface to try and do this, I thought that perhaps a charcter-based interface might be appropriate. I have seen POS character-based interfaces inside a Windows window at retail stores. (ie BlockBuster I think) Does anyone have any recommendations about s/w like this? Is this called a 4GL? It would help a *lot* if Java was in the mix... Remember: the client is a Windows machine and the server is Linux. Any thoughts appreciated. allen |
