| I have been given the task to come up with Requirements, Comparision and Migration document from Shadow Direct to DB2 Connect. I am very new much to all this, but kind of know a little bit about both of them. There has been a lot of pressure from business to move to DB2 Connect from Shadow Direct which the company is currently using since almost 7 years. I would greatly appreciate if any one of you can help or send me some comparision and differences between the two, and also the best migration approach document. Also if there is anything which DB2 connect cannot do which Shadow direct can do, and also any information on any performance overheads for using one or the other. Thanks in advance, any help is much appreciated Regards |

DB2 Connect: - allows exploitation of z/OS workload manager. - connects directly to DB2 instead of going through an external z/OS address space for lower overhead - most often has lower TCO - uses z/OS SRBs rather than TCBs for lower overhead - conforms to the DRDA open standard Larry E. |
