| Hello Friends; I have a general question on Configuration Advisor, as I get to know it better I may have more focused questions. I have a feeling that the Advisor may assume that there is only one instance on a server. I have a situation where I have many instances on one server, with many small databases, about 20 instances with about 45 databases. Sounds great so far doesn't it? Anyway my question at this point is when trying to utilize Configuration Advisor for tuning a database in regard to the physical memory, it sets the target memory at 80%. My question is, since I have many instances and databases is there some sort of formula I should be using to calculate what I should be allocating to the target memory bar? Any suggested reference material that addresses this would be appreciated. For information sake I am working with DB2 UDB 8.1 on a RedHat 7.2 Intel based environment. Currently in the process of moving all this to a DB2 UDB 8.2 on Suse 9 Intel based environment. Thanks. Claude |
