Default Which DB2 for Intel Xeon with EM64T Extensions on Linux

Folks,

I'm installing DB2 on a brand new IBM xSeries box, which has Intel Xeon
processors with EM64T extensions.

We are using SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 9, and when installed the HOSTTYPE
is "x86_64" rather than "i386".

I firstly installed DB2 for Intel 32-bit, but when I came to install Fixpack
8 it complained, becuase of the HOSTTYPE. I would have to hack the
installFixPak script to make it install.

Also, when I then went to built PHP, it complained that libdb2.so was not
suitable.

Since EM64T is the (supposedly compatible) answer to the AMD64, should I be
installing DB2 for AMD64 instead ?

Darin,

That's what I thought.

Pity that the PassportAdvantage site is messed up and doesn't list it for
download. Just spoke to some contacts, who will try to rectify the
situation !!!
