| Hi I'm getting a bit confused in the IBM download sites ... I've downloaded DB2 UDB v8.1 ESE for Linux and installed it without incident (except: on SuSE 9 I couldn;t use db2setup due to some known Java issue - does anyone know when this might be fixed?) Now I want to install just the Admin Tools like Control Center on Windows desktops to manage the Linux instance. I can't see this download anywhere. I guess I can install DB2 Personal Edition for Windows and it will be in there, but that seems to me that I will download 500MBytes just to access the small-ish subset I need. Am I missing something: can the Admin suite be downloaded independently? thanks Neil |

There are workarounds that have been posted previously in this newsgroup. Check the google newsgroup archives for information. |

| Thanks, I appreciate that. Sorry to labour this, but would anyone be able to pinpoint the *exact* download? I download what I though was the right thing (350MB) but just get the message "This installation is not valid for your processor type". cheers Neil "Mark A" <ma@switchboard.net> wrote in message news:2yaNb.866$WH1.5344@news.uswest.net... > "Neil Truby" <neil.truby@ardenta.com> wrote in message > news:bu39pk$d95cn$1@ID-162943.news.uni-berlin.de... > > Hi > > > > I'm getting a bit confused in the IBM download sites ... > > > > I've downloaded DB2 UDB v8.1 ESE for Linux and installed it without > incident > > (except: on SuSE 9 I couldn;t use db2setup due to some known Java issue - > > does anyone know when this might be fixed?) > > > > Now I want to install just the Admin Tools like Control Center on Windows > > desktops to manage the Linux instance.
