Default db2 version 9 license

Hi,

I have downloaded db2 version 9 through passport advantage.
The db2ese.lic file was included but I have my doubts if this is okay.
Db2licm output differs a lot from version 8.

My "db2licm -l" shows:

Product name: "DB2 Enterprise Server Edition"

License type: "License not registered"

Expiry date: "License not registered"

Product identifier: "db2ese"

Version information: "9.1"

Annotation: "-1;(_b)"

License Center tells me that DB2 Enterprise Server Edition is permanent,
all other features are expired.

Can someone tell me if this is normal behaviour?

Thanks

It is normal. In version 9, there are separate licenses that you need to
manually install based on what you purchased. The licenses are more
granular than past releases, presumably this is to have more
offerings/prices to give you more choice ($ vs features) than before. The
downside is that you need to install the license so that DB2 can help you
track compliance.
