| Hi, I have installed DB2Express-C (free version) and would like to connect to DB2 on mainframe. Do I need to install connect separately ? if so, DB2 Connect v8.1 fix fack 15 would work ? OR are there any free connect available which works with DB2Express-C so that I can connect to DB2 on mainframe? Thanks in advance for your help. |

I am not sure about version 9, but in version 8 the free clients do not need extra software (DB2 Connect) to connect to a mainframe DB2, but you did need a license for DB2 Connect to be installed. The DB2 Connect software is integrated into the Version 8 clients, but a license is still needed. If you have DB2 V8 ESE server installed, it comes with a 5 user license for DB2 Connect. |
