| Depends upon which "base" version of DB2 you have. It is included with DB2 ESE, but not with DB2 Workgroup ... for example. Larry Veeru71 wrote: > Does HADR feature need any add-on product / license or is it part > of the base version of DB2 EE software ? > > Thanks |

If you license DB2 by processor, which is how ESE is licensed in version 8 (I am not up to speed on all the V9 licensing options), then you only have to pay one CPU license on your standby server, assuming that it ONLY contains one or more HADR standby databases. One interesting thing about the DB2 Express-C Supported version (about $3000 per year with fixpacks and support) is that it includes HADR in that price, although you will need one licensed copy for each server. |

Licensing details vary by both DB2 release (DB2 V.8.2, DB2 9, DB2 9.5, etc.) and by DB2 edition (Enterprise, Express, Workgroup, etc.). Regularly discussed in developerWorks articles by Paul Zikopoulos: DB2 9.5: http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/db...kopoulos1.html DB2 9: http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/db...611zikopoulos/ DB2 Version 8 releases: http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/db...ikopoulos.html and also available under product info on the IBM web site, e.g.: http://www-306.ibm.com/software/data...atures_ha.html Regards, - Steve P. -- Steve Pearson, DB2 for Linux, UNIX, and Windows, IBM Software Group "Portland" Development Team, IBM Beaverton Lab, Beaverton, OR, USA |
