| RH Linux AS 2.1 DB2 v8 UDB WSE Hello All: I am testing my soon-to-be-in-production DB2 v8 **FP 5** server. In a test java program, I just used the DB2 v8 **FP 4** db2jcc.jar file (and the com.ibm.db2.jcc.DB2Driver class) to successfully connect to that new **FP 5** server. Does that make sense? Should I be able to get a type 4 JDBC connection to a FP 5 server using a FP 4 jdbc driver? Do the rules about how the fixpaks must be the same on both client & server only apply to type 2 & 3 JDBC, and not type 4?? Any thoughts appreciated. allen |

It would be the best if the version and release number of db2 server and client are the same. But this is not A MUST. But I will not suggest to FP5 jdbc driver talk to FP4 server. > > Any thoughts appreciated. > > allen |
