| If I have 8 CPUs on a box, legitimately add another 8, but forget to update the licence manager, will db2 automatically change from a permanent to a temporary license? It seems as though that is what happened. Thanks in advance, Ted |

You'll see an error message every time the instance starts (and it will get put into the db2diag.log) that indicates that there are more CPUs in the system than you are licensed for. db2licm -l will give you the information about how many licenses you have, and what the enforcement policy is (i.e. hard stop or soft stop).
