SDS -- Shared Disk Secondary.

Think of it as one or more HADR servers all on top of a single shared
disk subsystem and all going against the same tablespaces/partitions, etc.

I forgot to mention. On IDS HDR (i.e. DB2's HADR) is readable so adding
an SDS node provides additional read capacity. And there can be
multiple SDS nodes, in addition to the HDR secondary.

If you mean DB2 for LUW you won't hear much about unanounced IBM
intentions in this group.
