| Hi I have what is probably a strange question but is it possible to get a tablespace out of a backup pending state if one does a load on a recoverable database? Also assuming this isn't possible would it be possible to add a warning when it is run in a recoverable database especially since it would typically result in an outage for that tablespace? thanks tim Ps. Also will the Infocenter ever return results correctly? I've noticed when you look for say, "load command", its listed as a 23% hit despite the fact that the page title is "load command". There is quite a bit of very useful documentation in the Infocenter but its searching appears to need some work |

Did you have a look at the COPY option of the LOAD command? That way you can avoid that the tablespace goes into backup pending state. -- Knut Stolze DB2 Information Integration Development IBM Germany |

| I hadn't but now that I have I might try it next time. What I was really after was a way for DB2 to warn you that you were about to do something stupid in a similar fashion of doing a restore into an existing database but only when the load could cause you problems. Obviously if the user were a little more careful in what they were doing it wouldn't be a problem but I'm sure we all know that users can't really be trusted to get things right |
