| If anyone replies who saw my other posts, now you know why my posts look as if I'm using MS Access. I'm trying to google information about MS Access and why MS Access causes database locks within DB2. The Developers at my current job discourage MS Access queries on the DB2 database. Here is what I found so far: Microsoft Access, however, is different. Access has its own object model. The lock prevents users from connecting to the database(SDW). DB2 UDB is an object-relational database server. Problem: Execution of programs using the SDW sometimes fail because of the use of MS Access queries. There are no failues when running queries using the Shareware software query tools. Do anyone know the reason why MS Access causes problems for the SDW and SQL query tools do not? |
