Ik praat nederlands; jij waarschijnlijk ook. Vandaar een wat eenvoudigere
reactie.

Zelf bezig met dit onderwerp: Restoren van databases was ik in de
veronderstelling dat een

POINT IN TIME restore (dat wil jij kennelijk) altijd zomaar kon.

Welnu:

De point in time restore kan TOT het volgende moment:

1. De database backup +

2. De Differentiele database backups' +

3. De transactielog backup.

M.a.w. als jij geen diff backup of translog backups maakt kan je alleen maar
terug tot de laatste database backup.

Mocht nu jouw transactielog file verder wel in tact zijn is dat dus
vervelend voor je.

Er schijnen wel commerciele tools te zijn (lumigent) die wel op basis van de
actieve trans log een point in time

restore mogelijk maken maar daar heb ik geen ervaring mee.

Hoe restore je nu precies:

Databases

ALL Tasks

Restore database

Let er nu op dat je

1. je nieuwe naam kiest (want dat wilde je meen ik) en

2. Nu via devices kies je het bestand waar je backup in zit. Mochten daar
transactielogfiles in zitten dan kun je ook point in time aanvinken !!. Als
dat niet zo is dan heb je dus buikpijn.

Ik kan nu even verder niks melden want ik ken jouw situatie verder niet.
