Default About SSAS 2005

I must illustrate the SSAS 2005's functions in a company that knows Business
Objects and OutlookSoft.
I know that SSAS 2005 uses the UDM to connect to the underneath data
sources: is this concept more closer to Business Objects's universes or
OutlookSoft?
Does UDM represent a link to a data source or a data copy?
Does exist any documentation that compares SSAS with Business Objects and
OutlookSoft?

Many thanks
