| I am trying to find out how to configure a SQL 2000 server to be able to store and access databases on NAS or a mapped drive that physically exists elsewhere on the network. The knowldege base is not much help. Can anyone help me here? |

| Eric, Take a look at knowledgebase article Q304621: http://support.microsoft.com/default...&Product=sql2k. There is also an article on sql-performance http://www.sql-server-performance.com/ew_san.asp that you can review. The bottom line is that Microsoft doesn't recommend putting any databases on a NAS device unless the vendor guarantees that the device can be used for transactional databases.
