Default DSN Configuration setting "Use strong encryption for data"

Hello,

I have installed a certificate on our SQL Server machine where it uses SSL
and have selected the "Force protocol encryption" selection in the SQL
Server Network Utility. I have believed with this set up and setting I have
all connections to our SQL Server encrypted using the SSL. In looking at
setting up a Microsoft SQL Server DSN Configuration on the last step that
says "Use strong encryption for data" checkbox I was wondering if someone
could clarify to me if I would also need to check this selection or how does
this option work in relation to the "Force protocol encryption" selection
that I have selected on the SQL Server Network Utility? Having the dsn
configuration portion of the "Use strong encryption for data" selection
unchecked with the "Force protocol encryption" selection in the network
utility checked is allowing me to connect successfully. But when I check
the "Use strong encryption for data" with the "Force protocol encryption"
still checked it is giving me a connection error. What I basically want is
all connections to our SQL Server to be encrypted. Do I need to do any
other configuring? I'm a little confused in how this dsn option is working
with the sql server network utility option that I thought was doing the main
purpose of encrypting all connections.

Thanks in advance.

John
