how do i remove sql from my win2k server in prep for a fresh install of
mssql?

Backup up any databases you might want to keep. Go to Add/Remove
Programs and uninstall Microsoft SQL Server 2000. If you want to be really
thorough you could remove the MSSQL key from HKLM\Software\Microsoft, but
that is overkill. Reboot your server, reinstall the current service pack of
Windows 2000, then reinstall SQL.
