Default Server showing multiple times in ODBC Configuration

We have a group of computers that are having problems connecting to our SQL
Server Database...

When they pull down the "Which SQL Server do you want to connect to?" box,
it shows the server twice. If they select one, then the application fails,
if they choose the other sometimes it works fine sometimes it fails. All
affected machines are XP, NT and 2000 machines. It does not affect all the
machines at the site. Using a program I wrote with SQLDMO, it only shows
the server once. Why is it listing twice for some people? Is there a place
in the registry that is causing this problem?

TIA,
Doug Crabtree

What is the version of the server?
Is it 2000?

Hi guys,

I am having this same issue with one computer at a customer site. They are
using Windows 2000 with Sql Server 2000 service pack 3 on the server. The
client PC is Windows XP. Have you been able to solve your problem yet? If
so, could you let me know what I need to do? Thank you much!

Jason
