Sybase Connection ODBC Connection Failure

We are using Infomaker 6.5 and are migrating over to
Infomaker 8.0 and I have SQL 2000 Database connection.
When trying to retreive data from the server I am getting
an error message.

Select error:[Mircosoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver]
Communication link failure.

When I check the link or Ping the server I am getting a
response. Can someone give me an idea of what to try??
