write access denied with paradox 5

Please help

I have to read/write data in a paradox5.0 database with visual C++ 6 but
cannot do more than read in it. I'm using Jet 4.0 SP7 and MDAC2.7 but it
still doesn't work. May anyone give me a clue ?
