1. Check if Mysql is installed -> on (as a service or as a running
program) -> connect from black screen using command <path to
client>mysql -u root -p <database name>.
2. way is slightly different in linux / windows but try the above
steps.
3. try programs to monitor / manage database.
4. do give details of installation & versions
