Thanks.
Dealing with rudeness comes with practice.
Though it's certainly not the kind of skill that's a pleasure to learn.

Yep, but keeping a job means being able to do the work - unless you
married the owners son/daughter.

And what exactly did you try? You've not shown that you tried ANYTHING.
Such basic statements would have been very clear in any decent SQL
book, for instance. Or even a lousy one.

Then why are you try to "qualify" those who can and cannot answer your
questions?

to meet/know someone is not a guarantee (the fact that you say to be a
team leader is not a guarantee itself): you know some of your collegues,
not every team leader in the world. Most of all, you don't know if they
all think the world as you do: we're always at the same point. Another
strange thing is a world where the database "expert" is the team leader.
I wonder why: in my little world this has never been so

I don't have to keep anything related to SQL, so I don't care: I don't
really understand why you and PL care

> And what exactly did you try?

"exactly" I tried to write some even more basic queries and solved the
first time the whole thing by using PHP. Then, I imagined there could be
a less redundant way to get the same result. Since I did not know where
to start (that is I searched and googled but I was not able to find a
tutorial or something basic to follow), I simply asked here

you've not shown to be able to read carefully what I wrote

In my position I know what they do. We talk.

And no, I don't know all of the team leaders in the world. But I do
know what is found in successful ones - and not in unsuccessful ones.

You're asking us to do your work for you. Are you going to send us your
paycheck?

I've done SQL classes. The basic queries here would have been covered
by the middle of the afternoon on the first day - of a five day course.

That right there tells me you didn't try very hard.

Oh, I can read. Quite well, as a matter of fact. And I can tell you
expect usenet members to be doing your work for you.

"In my position" is definitely advertising stuff

no, because I was NOT working: that's why I say you can't read

sure. But my team leader says it is better to learn by doing. Most of
all, as I specified, my main job is not SQL-related, so I have not five
days free

I expect usenet members to be able to read and understand, while you are
taking your precious team leader time to emulate Codd, say who you are
(or you would like to be), try to teach me how the world should be and
ask for paychecks

ROFLMAO! Exactly where am I advertising anything? What specific
services did I offer? What's my phone number? How do you get a hold of
me? (the email at the end of this message is NOT the one I use for
business).

You don't understand English very well, do you? Either that or you have
a huge chip on your shoulder.

What - can't you even remember what you said?

"Hi, and thanks for your reply. I generally work with client-side
technologies and middleware and the team leader perfectly knows it (!),
this time has been made an exception."

Yep, by DOING - no asking someone else do do it for you!

And I didn't way you had to take a five day course. All I said that
this was in the first few hours of the course - IOW, very basic. But
then you've already shown you aren't very smart.

Then you should take your own advice. Learn to read and understand.

And I'm not emulating Codd at all. And I'm not telling you how the
world "should be". I'm telling you how it IS.

People who don't produce don't remain employed (unless they work for the
government). And team leaders who keep people who aren't producing
don't remain team leaders for long.

You expect your paycheck. In return, businesses expect results. If
we're going to provide those results for you, you should be sending us
your paycheck.

Jerry, why don't we stop here? I'm really tired and so you will be. Ok?
