| Good day to all. I exported the DB of my ecommerce web site to a file, using the web application's tool. I got a large SQL file (1.5MB) which drops, recreates and populates tables. I currently have 2 MySQL installations: a 1,7GHz PIV PC with 512MB of RAM and a 80GB HDD and a PIV 2,2GHz notebook with 1GB of RAM and 40GB HDD. OS are Ubuntu Server v6.06 on the PC and XP Pro SP2 on the notebook. Importing the SQL file took about 4 seconds on the PC. Importing the SQL file took about 3 minutes on the PC. How can you explain such a difference - except for XP overall low performance Thanks in advance... -Pietro. |

| Currently have this bug being analyzed with mysql at.. http://bugs.mysql.com/bug.php?id=23863 You may wish to subscribe, given that I am not only one with the problem I am hoping this is fixed soon. However, have not noticed any slow points in general transaction connections. I am assumming that there is a very nasty string manipulation going on somewhere in the import process that only effects winXP comps. Please add your comment to my bug as it may make them hurry it up. -Jared |
