Default MySQL crash on Debian Etch system

Hi,

today my MySQL 5.0.32 server crashed on my Debian Etch system. This never
happened before so I'm not sure where to look for the reason. It seemed that
MySQL started automatically after the crash but the other servers (postfix,
courier) were not able to connect to it until I restarted MySQL manually.

I read the logfiles but I can not find anything leading me to the reason:

Is there a way to find out why MySQL crashed?

Regards,
Frank

You have the binlog and the position where the server crashed, check
the statements which have been run shortly before the crash.

There is at least one known crash[0] in MySQL 5.0.32 which is shipped
with Debian 4.0.
