The choice or Sybase or Oracle should be made on complex criteria: Not marketing claims. The underlying architecture of the products is very different. The questions you should be asking relate to: 1. In-house expertise 2. Availability of on-line and telephone support 3. Availability of training 4. Availability of books 5. Access to employee resources in your region that know the product 6. Requirement for third-party tools I doubt you could be a database too large for either product ... provided the IS staff is competent with the product and doesn't just create a mess. -- Daniel Morgan http://www.outreach.washington.edu/e...ad/oad_crs.asp http://www.outreach.washington.edu/e...a/aoa_main.asp damorgan@x.washington.edu (replace 'x' with a 'u' to reply) |
